Terra Properties, a prominent real estate developer, has recently joined the ongoing efforts aimed at bridging the gap in the marketing and sales of properties within Nigeria. Their initiative focuses on educating real estate agents involved in the practice, recognizing a significant deficiency in their skills and knowledge. The aim is to equip these agents with the essential capabilities necessary to efficiently and ethically market and sell properties, eliminating the potential for fraudulent activities.
During their annual conference, named Terrapy and now in its third iteration, Terra Properties unveiled the theme "Realtor Odyssey 360: Decoding and Mastering Real Estate Dynamics." At the event, Chukwunonso Onny-Ezeh, CEO of Assist-2-Sell Properties, emphasized fundamental skills that agents require to thrive in their business endeavors.
Onny-Ezeh stressed the importance of shifting the focus from being commission-driven to a more customer-centric approach. She explained that a satisfied customer, based on their experience with an agent, is more likely to follow that agent to other properties, ultimately benefiting the agent. Furthermore, she advised sales agents against compromising relationships for financial gain, emphasizing the virtues of integrity and honesty in building lasting business relationships.
Iyore Ogbuigwe, CEO of Ultravantage Solutions, discussed "Making Money from Real Estate and Cultivating Connections." He urged agents to cultivate a desire for success in both marketing and sales. Ogbuigwe emphasized the need for an open-minded approach in marketing and sales, highlighting the distinction between marketing (which serves as an announcement) and sales (which represents closed deals resulting from effective communication of value).

A notable highlight of the event was an interactive competition among realtors, resulting in five winners who were awarded immediate registration with the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA) as official state realtors, courtesy of Terra Developers. This initiative not only enhances the skills of real estate professionals but also promotes trust, integrity, and ethical practices within the industry.
